Tony Hempen is a licensed, bondable private fiduciary associated with Professional Fiduciary Services (PFS) of Laguna Beach, California. PFS is a group of independent professional fiduciaries who work together acting as Trustees in Living Trusts, Personal Representatives in Wills, Agents for Advanced Health Care Directives and Powers of Attorney for Assets for individuals and families requiring these services.
Tony has worked for the past 20 years with PFS partners assessing real property, businesses, apartment management and general fiduciary work for assets under trust. He has evaluated and written reports for several trusts containing commercial & residential properties in disrepair and developed a “plan of action” to correct and maintain those properties. Thus, increasing the value of the properties to the trust.
In the last years of a person’s life; maintenance of the home is likely a low priority. Yet for many the home is the major asset in the estate. Prior to distribution the trustee must ask the question: how much time and dollars should I invest in the property to maximize the value? Or does the trustee sell the property “as is?” Tony’s extensive experience in the field of real property improvement, remodel assessment and construction makes him uniquely qualified to answer these questions that most licensed fiduciaries do not have.
Before becoming a professional fiduciary Tony owned his own General Contracting and Construction Company, Hempen Construction, Inc. For over 45 years Tony has been on the front lines with clients wishing to improve and increase the value of their real estate properties either to prepare for habitation, eventual sale or as an investment in the future. From initial assessment to successful conclusion Tony has always stayed with the project well past the final invoice. Many Hempen Construction clients consider Tony a true friend and continue to count on him for advice and help with their property management, maintenance, and repair. Fiduciary means working for another having their “best interest” in mind. The same mindset he has taken to his work as a successor trustee where working for the best interest of his client is the only standard.
Tony is married to his wife of 21 years, Maggie. Together Tony and Maggie enjoy their combined family of 4 grown children and 5 beautiful granddaughters. While Tony is the backbone, Maggie has been the support system for Hempen Construction, dealing with all the administrative details. Together Tony and Maggie make a very effective and compassionate team.
